With that tardily reported spill of radioactive material from Chalk River recently, and being upriver to Ottawa, I guess this result should not be unexpected.
US border checks found Ottawa sludge radioactive with Iodine-131, a medical product.
Hmm... Chalk River makes medical radioisotopes for the global market using a reactor that is working beyond it's design limits. They also spill and no-tell.
The Canadian government says no way this discovery is related to Chalk River. But I've become a little numbed by reassurances from 'authorities' that everything is OK.
Guess we'll need to buy geiger counters to check those bags of compost before growing our veggies this year.
